The Vélodrome stadium in Marseille now calls itself the CEPAC Vélodrome on its official site. It lists OM football matches until January, a rugby match in April and then two concerts, Gims and Soprano. From L’Estaque, the metro is the simplest way to get there.

The events in detail

This is the schedule the stadium shows today. Concert announcements come in waves, and many pages on the web keep dates that have already passed: for what comes next, the official ticket office remains the only up-to-date source.

OM matches

The stadium lists OM’s first home league matches for the 26/27 season, and the home matches of the UEFA Europa League league phase. The nearest is OM v Toulouse, with tickets from €19. The OM v Nice and OM v Celta de Vigo matches are also sold together, as a two-match pack.

Our take: the atmosphere at OM matches in the Vélodrome is exceptional. Even if you are not a football or OM fan, it is a truly unique experience.

Rugby: the “Duel Rouge & Noir”

Rugby Club Toulonnais has announced that its match against Stade Toulousain will be played in Marseille, for the 21st round of the Top 14. The club has named it the “Duel Rouge & Noir” (red and black). Tickets start from €10, and entertainment is planned throughout the day.

Concerts: Gims, then Soprano

Gims announces the first date of his 2027 tour with this concert in Marseille. Tickets start from €65. Soprano follows on the schedule, with tickets from €49. For now, the official schedule shows no other concert.

One stadium, two names

Older articles call it the Orange Vélodrome, a name it has carried since 2016. The official site now writes CEPAC Vélodrome. It is the same stadium, with 67,000 seats.

How to get to the Vélodrome from L’Estaque

By metro

Two stations on line 2 serve the stadium. Rond-Point du Prado is the one for the Jean Bouin and Virage Nord stands. Sainte-Marguerite Dromel is for the Ganay and Virage Sud stands, as is tram T3. Check your stand on the ticket before choosing a station: they do not lead to the same side of the stadium. The metro runs more often 2 hours before the event, and later after it ends. From Saint-Charles station, take line 2 towards Sainte-Marguerite Dromel. To reach Saint-Charles from L’Estaque, see our guide to getting to Villa Byblos. One ticket works across the whole network (bus, metro and tram) within 1 hour, and you can buy it in metro stations and at tram stops.

Finding your entrance

For OM matches, the Ganay and Virage Sud stands open only through the Ganay forecourt, on Rue Raymond Teisseire. The Jean Bouin and Virage Nord stands open only through the Jean Bouin forecourt, on Boulevard Michelet. For a concert or a major event, follow the plan printed on your ticket: it spells out the access.

By bus

Bus 83 leaves from the Vieux-Port: allow about 40 minutes, along the Corniche Kennedy. On the day of an event, RTM sometimes changes lines 2 hours before the start. Check the traffic alerts on the RTM website.

By car

From the villa, the stadium is 23 minutes away by the OpenStreetMap calculation, without traffic. On the day of a match or concert, the stadium itself says it is always very difficult to get there by car: many nearby car parks are closed and streets can be blocked. RTM’s park-and-ride car parks (La Rose, La Fourragère, Louis Armand, Saint-Just, Gèze, Bougainville, Frais Vallon) let you finish by metro. With a rechargeable RTM card, €2.20 is charged when you leave the car park, where you may stay until 8am the next morning.

For the way back after a match or concert, we suggest leaving your car near a metro station on line 2. After the event, the metro takes you straight to your car so you can drive home to the villa and avoid the traffic jams around the stadium.

A Sunday evening match finishes late. Plan your way back before you buy tickets: last train, last metro or a taxi.

Where to have a drink or eat near the stadium

Black Stone, at 6 Rue Maurin, is a pub that shows matches on several screens, with live music. According to OpenStreetMap, it opens every day from late afternoon. My Little Warung, in the Dromel area, serves Asian food to take away or eat in, open seven days a week.

Around the stadium, there are several options for food, especially around the Jean Bouin stand where there is much more choice, including a recently opened Burger King. Inside the stadium, the food stalls also offer decent options, even if prices are slightly high. For dinner before you leave L’Estaque, see our guide to where to eat in L’Estaque and around.

Visiting the stadium outside events

The OM Stadium Tour is a self-guided route with access to the dressing rooms, the press conference room, the pitchside and the trophies. It is listed until 30 September 2027, from €16. Slots are booked through the stadium’s ticket office. It is an idea for a day with no match or concert: the route is self-guided, with no set tour.

To stay in L’Estaque before a match, the villa has 3 parking spaces and sleeps up to 8 people.
